Ergonomics: Eyes and Head - InteGrand

Blurred vision, itchy, dry and strained eyes; does this seem pleasant? No, but almost everyone who works in an office may experience these throughout the day.

Let’s talk about ergonomics – more specifically ergonomics and your head. This may sound a little funny, but even the slightest adjustments to your office can make a difference on your daily experience. If you suffer from headaches during the day, these simple tips for lessening the strain on your eyes may help. If that’s not working there may be another cause.

Think of the lighting in your office. Is there a glare bouncing off your computer monitor? If there is, you are most likely straining your eyes to read text or see images. If the glare is coming from light through a window, close the blinds. If the light is coming from inside, tilt or reposition your monitor. If you’re having trouble making adjustments, we can find you an anti-glare screen.

The height of your computer monitor may be affecting your neck. The top of your monitor’s screen should be about even or slightly lower than eye level. A too low or too high screen will cause uneven pressure on neck muscles and vertebrae, causing headaches or even migraines. This can be easily corrected with a monitor riser.

When it comes to headaches in the office, these are the most common ergonomic problems that cause harm. At InteGrand, we can find the correct ergonomic equipment to help prevent illnesses and injury. Contact us today.
