5 Must See Firework Shows in the Twin Cities - InteGrand

fireworks twin citiesIndependence Day is right around the corner and we are so excited! Here in the Twin Cities, we have access to a variety of fun, family-friendly activities for the holiday. We are most excited about all the opportunities we have to see amazing firework shows! Here are a couple we suggest checking out:

  1. The Mississippi River at the riverfront—how could you miss fireworks at such a beautiful riverfront? We suggest getting there before 9 p.m. so you can snag the good spots, like Kellogg Boulevard, the Science Museum of Minnesota stairs, Harriet Island and the High Bridge.
  2. The Mill City Museum—enjoy an awesome view from the Mill City Museum Observation Deck. It’ll cost you $35, but it’s totally worth it to watch the fireworks from such a small space, and you can set off on a free exploration through the museum beforehand!
  3. Lake Calhoun—if you’re an outdoorsy person, we highly recommend getting an amazing view of the downtown fireworks from the lake while doing fun activities like kayaking, grilling and playing cards games with friends.
  4. Commons Park in Excelsior—in the west metro, you’ll be able to experience the 4th of July fireworks from the shores of Lake Minnetonka. Get here early too so you can get a great spot near the lake!
  5. Lakeville Pan-O-Prog: These fireworks happen at dusk at Lakeville North High School and are accompanied by a huge parade at 5:30 p.m. on July 7th in downtown Lakeville.
  6. If you’re in the north suburbs, there are only about a million places to see fireworks in a creative atmosphere. In Hazelwood Park, enjoy live music beginning at 6:30 p.m. At Sand Creek Park, there’ll be live music, a parade, a carnival, and a car show from June 30-July 4. The fireworks start at dusk!

Here’s hoping that no matter where you are, you enjoy your July 4.
